I cannot open my Sage 50 files. I received MESSAGE That says: The Sage 50 Connection Manager is installed but isn’t running on the computer where you store your data. What can I do?
Read on for more information:
Option 1: Launch the Sage 50 Connection Manager from the System Tray icon.
The Sage 50 Connection Manager icon is located in the System tray, near the clock in the lower right corner of your desktop.
If the data is stored on a server, perform the following actions on the server:
Select Stop Service, then Start Service from the drop-down menu. If the status reads “Running: Yes,” you’re good to go.
Install Sage 50, then repair it or uninstall and reinstall it. If the start/stop button for the service is missing,
Option 2: Use the Control Panel to start the Connection Manager Service.
Change the View in Windows Control Panel by: On the right top corner of the windows, go to Large Icons or Small Icons.
Select Administrative Tools and Services from the drop-down menus.
Locate Sage 50 Database Connection Manager if the Startup Type column is Disabled, Automatic, or Automatic (Delayed Start).
If it’s disabled, follow these steps: Right-click on Sage 50 Database Connection Manager and choose Properties.
Change the Startup type to Automatic or Automatic (Delayed Start), then click Apply in the General tab before clicking Start to start the service and attempt to open the database.
Option 3: You may find the data file under My Documents (or Documents)
C: Drive is located at the root of the C: Drive. Make a new folder for yourself.
Move the data file to its new place for each organisation.
If the data is also shared with other machines, the Computer Technician must create a new shared network folder utilising this folder.
The data file must be opened in the newly created folder.
Once you’ve completed each of the procedures above, double-check to see whether you’re still seeing the Sage 50 Connection Manager problem. If you’re having trouble with the same mistake, you can talk to one of our Sage specialists in real time.
