How to Fix QBPOSSHELL Has Stopped Working– QuickBooks Point of Sale

Edit the content for the folder (QBPOSSHELL), or Create a new admin login.

Solution 1: Modify the QBPOSSHELL Content

 

1.Begin the task manager. With the keystrokes Ctrl + Al t+ Del, you may simply accomplish this.

2.Activate the QBPOS.exe file by on the processes button.

3.Click the “End the processes tab” option in the display window.

4.Select the Open Windows Explorer tab from the starting menu by right-clicking on it.

5.Select the Organize button, then the Folder search choices.

6.Select Show hidden files from the view menu and click OK.

7.Select the QBPOSSHELL.exe file from the machines tab in the window on your left.

8.The.config file will be visible. Change the name of the file from.config to.configbet.

9.Exit the window and log in to your POS software and your QBPOSSHELL will come to normal.

 

 

 

Solution 2: Replace your administrator.

If the above-mentioned remedy does not solve your problem, you will need to replace your admin account. Follow the steps below to do so:

Users using Windows 7:

    • Navigate to the startup menu from your desktop screen to modify your admin access.

 

    • Press enter after finding the control panel tab.

 

    • Double-click “manage account” under the user accounts tab.

 

    • Click to establish a new admin account in the window that displays.

 

    • Choose a name for your account and mark it on the administrator page with a checkbox.

 

    • Create an account by clicking the button.

 

    • Now restart your computer after shutting it off.

 

    • Log in to our QuickBooks POS software as an administrator.

 

    • You should face no problem now.

 

Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 are supported.

Navigate to the control panel from your system by selecting the control panel tab and pressing enter.

    • Select the option for User Accounts and Family Safety.

 

    • Choose the user accounts tab and then “manage account.”

 

    • Click to create a new user account in the window that displays.

 

    • Sign in without a Microsoft account is an option.

 

    • Enter information in the local account… password and username

 

    • Click Next, then Finish to complete the process.

 

    • Now restart your computer after shutting it off.

 

    • Log in to QuickBooks POS software as an administrator.

 

    • Restart QBPOSShell as a third option.

 

    • Close QuickBooks Point of Sal

 

    • Activate Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete).

 

    • Choose the Processes tab.

 

    • Right-click QBPOSShell.exe and select End Process from the context menu.

 

    • Close Task Manager and restart it.
