Tips for Sage 50 CA Clean Re-Install
A few weeks ago, I responded to a prompt to update my program for 2020. After I did that, I could not open 2020 because 2019 was still loaded. When I tried to fix the problem, the program disappeared and I am unable to reinstall it.
STEP 1: Creating a backup of your company’s database
Before you uninstall the Sage 50 CA program from your computer. Any corporate database files that are stored there should be backed up. This assures that if you need to restore files after the re-install, you will be able to do so. Backup files are usually kept outside of your Sage 50 installation directory anyhow, so there’s minimal risk of data being permanently lost if you skip this step. However, we advise that you save several copies of your data.
Start by verifying the security of your company’s data file, then build a backup, and then restore the data files you require after you have a new setup.
STEP 2: Back up any old Sage 50 CA installation files in case you need them again.
We only store downloads for the current version plus one year back according to our obsolescence policy (KB 29963).
If you haven’t already done so, please check the Sage 50 2020 download link below for the most recent (as of May 2020) version.
